Balancing Act

Look what I can do!  I can almost sit up!  I still need help, though.  My mom put some pillows around me just in case I fell over.

I definitely could use more practice.  Hey, it was nap time and I was tired.  My mom and dad think that I'll be sitting up on my own in no time.  They're predicting I'll be able to do it before I turn six months old.  Sweet.

My Favorite Outfit

My favorite outfit is my birthday suit!  I love it whenever I get a chance to hang out naked.  If I had it my way, I would never cover it up with goofy baby clothes.  I think my birthday suit is way cooler than any outfit my mom and dad might pick out for me.  That includes any clothing with bears, puppies, and especially ducks.

Secret Baby Trick

I was able to roll over from front to back really early--I was only two months old!  My mom and dad have been wondering when I would finally learn to roll over from back to front.  Little did they know, I had already figured it out; they just hadn't seen me do it yet.  The other night, they found me in my crib like this, so now they know I can do it.  They still haven't caught me in the act, but maybe I'll show them my new trick soon.

What the...?

Several weeks ago, I discovered that I have hands.  Whoa!!  Whenever I'm not sleeping or eating or having tummy time or making my mom and dad laugh, I like to stare at my hands.  Not only do my hands look cool, but also they taste pretty good.

Big Boy

Look at me!  I can stand up already!!  OK, so Daddy is helping me.  But I think I'm doing pretty good.  My mom and dad will be chasing me around in no time!

Get a haircut, hippie!

I'm growing very fast, and so is my hair!  I was born with hair, but it's been only five months and my bangs are already touching my eyebrows!  At this rate, I'm going to have to get a haircut soon.  I'm not so sure I'm ready for that.

Special Piggy

I have a special toe on my right foot.  At least that's what my mom says.  I think he's just a little shy, just like my dad's toe.  My mom is so weird; sometimes she calls my toes "piggies" and that's just silly.

Insomniac

Lately, I just haven't been in the mood for sleeping, night or day.  Last night, I decided that I would serenade my mom and dad at 5:00am.  At first, they pretended not to hear me, but I knew that if I got louder, they wouldn't be able to ignore me!  And today, I just wanted to spend the afternoon partying instead of napping.  Here I am in my crib trying to sweet-talk my mom into picking me up and playing with me.  It totally worked.

My Big Brother

I have a big brother named Emmett.  He's almost 5 years old.  He's half-wirehaired dachshund, half-poodle, and all kinds of cute.  There aren't a lot of pictures of him because he's afraid of cameras.  Whenever anyone points a camera at him, he runs away!  This is a rare photo of my parents teaching me how to torture the dog me and Emmett hanging out.

Happy New Year!

Good things are going to happen in 2009!  My mom, dad, and I will be moving into our new house in late March, I will be going on my first airplane ride to North Dakota to visit Grandma Linda, Grandpa Pandy, and Great-Grandma Louise in July, and in August I will be turning 1 year old AND my mom and dad will be celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary!!  That's a lot of good stuff to look forward to.  I don't really understand much of the fuss on the evening news lately, but my mom and dad tell me that I shouldn't worry too much about gloomy sentiments.  They say I can definitely thank my lucky stars that we have our health and each other...and maybe even a big birthday party this summer!
