Freedom!

I may not be old enough to learn how to use the potty, but I am big enough to not need a crib rail anymore. It's great being able to get in and out of bed whenever I feel like it. Like at 3am when I walk down the hallway to my mom and dad's room.

How To Keep Daddy Awake 101

Here are a few time-tested (as in 12:00am) ways to keep my dad awake:

the smack,

the eye poke,

and as a last resort, the nipple twist.

I am not an animal.

That is why I don't think I should have to sleep in this cage.  I should be allowed to sleep in my mom and dad's bed.

Just wait.  One of these days, I am going to climb out of this crib in the middle of the night and jump in bed with them.  Whether they like it or not!  Rawwrrr!  Oops.

Good Morning, Sunshine

Oh, lookie where I woke up this morning. It's the big bed! It seems that I'm having a little bit of trouble sleeping in my bed through the night. Maybe it's a growth spurt, maybe my plan is working, maybe I'm just having a hard time adjusting to my new room. I don't know.

In any case, I'm sure my mom and dad will get used to this new arrangement. I won't be this little forever. And I certainly won't look this cute in the morning forever, either.

Look what I can do!

I have absolutely no idea why my mom would be nervous about this particular milestone.

Like Father Like Son

When my mom tries to put me down for a nap, I see it as a challenge, so I fight tooth and nail to stay awake.  I think she likes it because it makes her laugh when I wake myself up by swinging my arms around and wiggling around in her arms.  With my dad, on the other hand, there's something about him that makes me want to sleep.  I don't know what it is, but apparently I have that effect on him, too.

Don't even think about it.

I'm not sleeping!  I'm just resting my eyes.  You can see that I'm not sleeping because I'm still holding on to my favorite toy, the Skwish.  OK, fine.  Maybe I am sleeping.  In any case, I like my Skwish because it's easy for me to grasp, and the wooden balls feel great on my gums.  I guess I really, really like my Skwish since I refused to let go of it...even after I fell asleep.

Crib? What crib?

Check me out in the big bed.  My crib is way too small, so I kicked my mom and dad out of their bed so that I can sprawl out.  I like the big bed because I can bounce and roll around on it without cracking my head on crib rails.  I also have a cool trick I like to play on my mom--I get her really tired until she lays down beside me to get me to take a nap, and then she ends up falling asleep with me.  Tandem afternoon naps are the best.

6 Months Old!!

Look at me!  I'm 6 months old.  My mom and dad say that it feels like I've been around forever, but I'm still pretty new even though I've learned all kinds of stuff since I was born.

Since I'm a big boy now, my mom and dad have been letting me try new foods and they've been helping me learn to crawl.  They say that I'm old enough to sleep through the night, but I beg to differ.  OK, so maybe I am old enough, but I'm definitely little enough to still want to cuddle with my mom at night.  I think she secretly likes to cuddle with me, too.

The Great Escape

My mom and dad came in to my room to check on me last night, and this is how they found me.  They're still wondering what I was up to.  I'm not telling.  All I will say is that my feet-first strategy did not work.  Actually, I'm kinda glad they came in when they did; as you can see, I was just a tiny bit stuck.

The Doughnut

My dad created a little play space for me made out of my Boppy and the afghan Great-Grandma Louise made.  My dad calls it "the doughnut."  It's a perfect spot because I can sit up or lay down to play with my favorite toys.  Sometimes I have so much fun that I get really tired and end up falling asleep right in the doughnut.

Om

This weekend, my mom and I went to mommy & baby yoga class.  It was a lot of fun and very relaxing for both of us.  Here I am doing my favorite pose.  I call it the upside-down dog pose.  Yep, it was very, very relaxing.

Secret Baby Trick

I was able to roll over from front to back really early--I was only two months old!  My mom and dad have been wondering when I would finally learn to roll over from back to front.  Little did they know, I had already figured it out; they just hadn't seen me do it yet.  The other night, they found me in my crib like this, so now they know I can do it.  They still haven't caught me in the act, but maybe I'll show them my new trick soon.

Insomniac

Lately, I just haven't been in the mood for sleeping, night or day.  Last night, I decided that I would serenade my mom and dad at 5:00am.  At first, they pretended not to hear me, but I knew that if I got louder, they wouldn't be able to ignore me!  And today, I just wanted to spend the afternoon partying instead of napping.  Here I am in my crib trying to sweet-talk my mom into picking me up and playing with me.  It totally worked.

ZzzzZzzzz...

I'm not sure why my mom and dad are tired all the time. I get plenty of sleep! I go to bed pretty early around 7:00pm. I only wake up twice for a late night snack, sometimes three times. With my naps during the day, which can be anytime (I like to keep Mommy and Daddy on their toes), I'm sure they could sneak in a nap, too.

Tummy Time

Tummy time is fun!

But after a while, I get really pooped.  Is it nap time yet?

BFF

Here I am in my crib with Pupito.  Whenever my mom and dad put me down for a nap, we hang out and talk before I fall asleep.  Pupito is my best friend...well, my second best friend (after Daddy).
